Business Requirements Document Template

Gathering business requirements is critically important for a web project to be successful. Well documented requirements allows us to ensure that the features being built directly map to the client’s specific business requirements.

Notes:

  • The category column is used to group together similar requirements. For example, two categories for a new website project might be "shopping cart" and "user account dashboard".
  • The ID column should be used to number each requirement (eg: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0). This also allows for the creation of a requirements hierarchy. For example, child requirements would be numbered as: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc).
