The first one.
Well here it goes, my first real post. I figure that it might make sense to introduce myself and briefly describe what I my future posts will likely be about.
First off, I’m currently working as a project manager in an IT department of a mid-sized Canadian company. As such, the majority of my posts will be my thoughts and lessons-learned around the various projects that I’m involved in on a day-to-day basis.
The project that’s currently demanding a lot of my time is my company’s implementation of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS). We’re using MOSS as the basis for our new company intranet. In addition to the ability of MOSS to allow information workers to share files, it also has some very powerful workflow capabilities. I’ll be exploring my experiences with MOSS in later posts. I will also touch upon why our current intranet doesn’t work because I’m sure there’s a lot of other companies out there who share similar problems (silos of information, anyone?).
